Where Do You Find Humanity?

Many in our great country think finding humanity is done through protest and disruption to make things right for the less privileged.

What I find is humanity is everywhere you choose to open your eyes to it. This past week Teresa and I found a small slice of humanity when looking for a place to camp overnight on our way to Colorado in northern Texas.

Boys Ranch sits about 40 miles north of Amarillo and was a great spot to stop. We were welcomed by security around 6pm after their main office had closed for the day. Boys Ranch offers travelers a place to camp with full power and water hookups without a charge.

What? Free camping with power and water? Well, yes and there is a reason. They want to bring a small amount of awareness to what they are doing that is so positive in the life of young boys and girls. While there are no fees for camping you will certainly be able to provide a donation to help them deliver much needed help in carrying out their small amount of humanity in the world.

This free camping spot sits on 15000 acres of beautiful north Texas land where we had beautiful views and a great night rest.

Boys Ranch has 350+ residents they support with a safe place to live and learn how to function in society as they mature into adulthood.

The number of children being helped seems small but isn’t humanity and being a good human always one small act of kindness and love at a time? We can find and grow positive humanity everywhere if we just open our eyes and then choose to be a participant.

I know we saw the good in what was started over eighty year’s ago at Boys Ranch and in one moment of our travels, we became a microscopic participant in the greatness of humanity without needing to protest or destroy a single thing or person.
