Memories are what life is made of

Well it’s been a great time over the past few days. Teresa and I made it to Newport WA which is only a short drive to her old stomping grounds in Springdale.

I asked her a few questions as we pulled in to Springdale when she was overcome with everything that comes with visiting your high school days. I initially was recording a short video to place here to capture the moment but I’m not gonna put it here as it was very touching , personal and emotional.

So you only get the photo

Visiting your old home town where you graduated from high school can be a lot of fun and this was no exception. Teresa and I walked the school grounds at Mary Walker HS for about 30 minutes.

Here I was with my “Homecoming Queen “ on the 50 yard line where she stood over 40 years ago and I could only think to say “thank you for marrying me “.

After walking around the school we walked to her old house and enjoyed more memories where I learned how she would try to sneak back into her house when she had been out and not supposed to be.

We finished our afternoon in Chewelah Washington where we found an ongoing farmer market and enjoyed lunch. We also bought some beeswax lip balm and lotion to help with my extremely dry lips and hands. I forgot how dry the western USA is.

The next day we headed down to our next camp spot on the Snake River. What a great spot and it allowed us the chance to visit another high school Teresa attended in Pomeroy Washington.

Pomeroy was to my opinion, a bit more to my liking as it had a more old town appeal and there was actually a tavern where we could eat dinner.

After a good night sleep it Was time to begin our way down the road towards our next destination “Creekside “.

  • The destination look fantastic. The 40′ rig would scare me a bit, but from reading it seems like you have it under control. Have fun and stay safe on the roads.
